Connect Claude Code

Updated 2026-10-17

Add the hosted URL with one command. A local install works too.

Steps

  1. Run the command in a terminal. --scope user makes the server available in all your projects; without it the server only applies to the current project.
  2. claude mcp list should show the server as Connected. Inside Claude Code, /mcp shows the same status.
  3. To share the server with a team, use --scope project: the command writes a .mcp.json file in the project root that you can commit.

Configuration

Hosted (recommended)
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user thefaceanalysis https://mcp.thefaceanalysis.com/mcp
Local (npx)
claude mcp add --scope user thefaceanalysis -- npx -y thefaceanalysis-mcp
.mcp.json (project)
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "thefaceanalysis": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://mcp.thefaceanalysis.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}
Check / remove
claude mcp list
claude mcp get thefaceanalysis
claude mcp remove thefaceanalysis

Check it works

Ask: “Using The Face Analysis, what is the median fWHR across your 102 reference faces?” The answer should be 1.78.

The -- separates Claude's own options from the command that starts the server. Keep it in the npx line.
